1210 | Love One Another

Our Story

A brand built around eight words. A promise built around one verse. And a belief that what you wear can change where money goes in the world.

How it started

It started with a verse that wouldn’t leave us alone.

Romans 12:10. “Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.” Eight words in the second half of that verse stopped us cold. Honor one another above yourselves. Not as an occasional act of generosity. Not as a holiday initiative. As a way of being.

We kept asking the same question: what would it look like to build something — a real business, with real products — that was structurally designed to honor other people above itself? Not just in its marketing, but in its actual mechanics. In the way money moved every time someone made a purchase.

That question became 1210.

“Be devoted to one another in love.
Honor one another above yourselves.”

Romans 12:10 — The verse behind our name

The name

1210. Not a zip code. Not a date.

The name is simple: Romans, chapter 12, verse 10. We named the brand after the verse because the verse is the brand. There’s nothing else underneath it. No lifestyle aesthetic, no ironic distance, no ambiguity about what we’re trying to say.

We are devoted to one another in love. We are trying to honor one another above ourselves. We put that on a shirt so we have to walk out the door wearing the standard we’re trying to live.

Every 1210 design is a different way of asking the same question: what does it look like to love someone the way Romans 12:10 describes?

Why the give-back

We didn’t want to just say “love one another.” We wanted to build it into the transaction.

Most brands donate to charity. They pick an organization, send a percentage once a year, and post about it. That’s good. But it still puts the brand in charge of where the love goes.

We wanted something different. We wanted the person buying the shirt — the customer, the one living their actual faith in their actual community — to be the one who decides. Because they know their neighborhood. They know which food bank is underfunded. They know which church is doing real work. They know which mission they’ve been supporting for ten years.

So we built it differently. At checkout, you search for any IRS-registered nonprofit in America — over 1.8 million organizations — and you choose where 10% of your purchase goes. We don’t pick. You pick. We just move the money where you tell us to.

That’s what “honor one another above yourselves” looks like in a business model. We step back. You lead. The cause you care about receives the benefit.

The designs

Every design is a question, not a slogan.

We don’t make shirts that tell people what to think. We make shirts that start conversations about what love actually looks like when it shows up in a body, in a day, in a life.

The Heart Comma

There’s a comma in Romans 12:10. Between “love” and “honor.” That pause is where devotion becomes practice. The Heart Comma captures the breath between feeling and action.

Jesus wept.

The shortest verse in the Bible. God in flesh, feeling the weight of human grief and choosing to feel it alongside us. Love that doesn’t fix — love that shows up.

Wandering Sheep

For the woman who knows what it feels like to be far. And the grace that meets her in the wondering — the Shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine to find the one.

Watercolors in Love

Faith doesn’t always look the same twice. Like watercolor — unpredictable, layered, beautiful in its own way. For the woman whose faith is all of those things.

Double Hearts

Two hearts in devotion to one another. The image of Romans 12:10 made visible. Not one heart giving and one receiving — two, equally devoted, equally present.

Creation Inspired

From the first act of creation to the call of Romans 12:10 — the whole arc of scripture bending toward the same truth: love is the point of everything.

A note from the founder

I want to be honest with you about what 1210 is and what it isn’t.

It isn’t a perfect company. It isn’t run by people who have Romans 12:10 all figured out. There are days I post about devotion and then answer an email in a way that doesn’t honor the person on the other end of it. There are days the business feels slow and I wonder if any of this matters.

But the verse doesn’t move when I fail it. It just waits. And I come back to it.

“Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.”

I built this brand because I wanted to wear that standard on my chest and walk out the door with it. I built the give-back the way I did because I wanted 1210’s money to go where our customers — not our marketing team — believe it should go. And I started publishing the Impact Wall because I believe a promise without receipts is just a feeling.

If you’re here, I think you understand something about what love is supposed to cost. Not in the emotional sense — in the practical sense. The kind of love Romans 12:10 describes costs something. It requires you to step back, to honor first, to ask whose cause matters before your own.

That’s the brand. That’s the standard. I’m trying to build toward it — one shirt, one quarter, one donation receipt at a time.

With love and gratitude,

The 1210 Team — hello@1210.store

Romans 12:10

“Be devoted to one another in love.
Honor one another above yourselves.”

Every shirt carries this verse. Every purchase moves 10% to the nonprofit you choose. That’s the whole thing. We’re glad you’re here.
